The Company History

Multi-Pure Drinking Water Systems was founded in December, 1970, to become the premier manufacturer of high quality drinking water treatment devices that reduce a wide range of contaminants of health concern and provide the peoples of the world with the best quality drinking water available at an affordable price.  Today Multi-Pure is an industry leader and the world's largest manufacturer of compressed solid carbon block filters.

Multi-Pure's solid carbon block filter technology has been widely accepted and used throughout the world by: hospitals, major universities and schools; laboratories; restaurants; the US Military; foreign embassies; major airlines; and more importantly by more than three million consumers.

Multi-Pure Today

Today, Multi-Pure Drinking Water Systems is a custom contract manufacturer of drinking water systems and filters distributed under the labels of the many companies it supplies.  It offers a diverse line of solid carbon block filters and drinking water systems designed for specific residential and commercial point-of-use and point-of-entry applications.  The company's products also are distributed under the trade name of MULTI-PURE by a network of more than 100,000 Independent Distributors serving customers throughout the United States and Canada.  In addition, international sales have contributed substantially to Multi-Pure's growth in the past five years; Multi-Pure Drinking Water Systems are now sold in more than eighty (80) countries.

Multi-Pure's corporate, sales, research and development, and assembly and manufacturing facilities are located in Las Vegas, Nevada.   Multi-Pure owns its corporate headquarters, R&D, and primary manufacturing facilities, and currently leases additional manufacturing, assembly and production coordination facilities.  Since establishment of a second manufacturing facility in 1994, Multi-Pure is able to respond to the demands of the growing drinking water treatment industry and has the capacity to meet production requirements ranging from 100 filters to more than 1,000,000 filters.

Solid Carbon Block Filter Technology

Considered to be the most effective method for reducing contaminants of health concern - such as cysts, turbidity, microscopic organisms, chlorine, lead, asbestos, certain pesticides, trihalomethanes, volatile organic chemicals, etc. - Multi-Pure's Solid Carbon Block filters have been tested and certified by NSF International under its NSF/ANSI Standard No. 53, Health Effects, as well as NSF/ANSI Standard No. 42, Aesthetic Effects.

The carbon is compacted into a dense structure causing every molecule of water to be forced thorough microscopic pores of carbon (rather than flowing around the granules of carbon), thus effectively reducing a wide range of pollutants.  Some additional advantages of the Solid Carbon Block filter are that it does not waste water; there is no electricity required; it does not remove essential trace minerals that are beneficial to good health; and it does not add salt or silver to the water.  The solid carbon block filter is a replaceable cartridge designed so that the water flow rate decreases indicating the need for replacement.

Multi-Pure's Competitive Edge

The superior performance of Multi-Pure's filters and Drinking Water Systems gives its products competitive edge over the competition.  The Multi-Pure technology offers superior effectiveness in reducing contaminants of health concern, and many of its products have been tested and certified by NSF International for the reduction of the widest range of contaminants.

In addition to its NSF Listings, Multi-Pure Drinking Water Systems have been listed, certified and/or registered by the following:

  • NSF International

  • California Department of Health Services

  • Iowa Department of Public Health

  • Wisconsin Bureau of Building Systems

  • Massachusetts Board of Plumbing

  • Colorado Department of Health

There are hundreds of companies that sell drinking water systems for the treatment of various contaminants. Although most companies make devices that can remove chlorine from water, only thirty-eight (38) of those companies offer drinking water treatment systems that are certified by NSF to reduce Trihalomethanes (a disinfection by-product known to cause cancer in humans and miscarriages) under NSF's Standard No. 53, Health Effects (April, 2006 Listings). And, only two companies have devices certified by NSF to reduce PCBs. Multi-Pure Drinking Water Systems offers products certified to reduce MTBE, a gasoline additive classified as a possible human carcinogen, which has been found in drinking water coast-to-coast.

Multi-Pure Drinking Water Systems' goal is to produce the highest quality filters and water treatment devices that will solve the most common drinking water problems for customers throughout the world.  It has the organization and ability to respond quickly and effectively to the specific requirements of its customers.  A true measure of performance is the number of long-lasting customer relationships built over the years.

At Multi-Pure Drinking Water Systems, we continuously seek opportunities in the drinking water treatment industry and in complementary industries, where innovative applications of Multi-Pure's solid carbon block filter technology can solve consumers drinking water problems.
